I've always been a big fan of cushioned lap trays, but found contemporary, stylish looking, decent quality cushion trays difficult to find in the UK or in fact anywhere internationally.
BACKSTORY
I started designing TROVE Lap Trays while taking a sabbatical from the stresses of work as a high end London Interior Designer in early 2018. The response to my first Cool & Classy Range was wonderful, with sales on Amazon, Etsy and on my own trovetrays.com website continuing to grow at a pace I couldn't have imagined. We now ship all over the world, with loads going out to Europe, the US, Canada and Australia every day.
GROWTH
All of our lap trays with cushion are handmade to order here in the UK, with full control over materials and quality, unlike cheaper mass produced Chinese made trays. We were lucky to continue to be able to source our materials and operate during the Covid 19 UK lockdowns from 2020, as we experienced a huge increase in orders when so many people were forced to work from home. Many people think that bean bag lap trays as just for eating off, but once you've discovered the comfort and practicality of using one as a laptop lap desk, you'll never be without it.
Our sales continued to grow post Covid and I'm grateful to all my lovely buyers for helping take my small business from strength to strength. All my best wishes for a healthy, hopeful and fulfilling 2024 !
