They provide a stable work surface as a hobby tray for crafting or for reading, writing, crosswords and other activities. The raised frame edge prevents things from sliding off.

The beautifully printed, durable, warm plate resistant, (no hot plates) matt laminate surface is super easy to wipe clean. The cushion is generously padded with flame retardant polystyrene balls for stability, allowing for them to naturally relax and reduce in size after the 1st few months of use.
